ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The last remaining jet that sat atop pedestals outside the Air National Guard Base at Lambert is now gone.

Workers removed the F-15 jet Friday and placed it on a flatbed truck for its trip to Whiteman Air Force Base near Kansas City.

The Air National Guard unit moved from Lambert to Whiteman years ago but the planes stayed behind. Last week the first two planes were taken down and driven to Whiteman. The move cost about $125,000.
