CHESTERFIELD, MO (KTVI) - Strong storms swept through Chesterfield, leaving a trail of damage. At this point the National Weather Service has not confirmed if it was a tornado or just a strong storm but we do know that is caused a lot of damage Thursday night. The damaged occured on Spirit of St. Louis Boulevard near the airport. No one was hurt during the storm but mother nature put on quite a show overnight. Firefighters were quickly dispatched to the scene.

Authorities say there was a gas leak in one of the buildings that was damaged. The storm did most of its damage in an 8 block radius. It toppled trees, ripped down power lines and broke windows.

The weather is expected to be calm Friday so crews can continue to clean the area and access the damage.
