ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - We're hearing from the family of man whose body was found in a Forest Park Lake earlier this week.

Twenty-five-year-old Keith Rodgers was the father of a newborn. His death leaves those that loved him with more questions than answers.

"We have a little bit of closure, but we would like to know what happened to him and who put his body there," said Ieisha Welch.

St Louis police said Rodgers’ decomposed body was discovered in a pond near Steinberg Skating Rink. The victim's family said the news brings some closure, but not enough. Rodgers went missing early in the year, and now family members want to know exactly what happened and why.

"There's no reason why, three months later, after the water thaws out, we should be finding his body and we have been out there and we got no help," said Jasmine Wilson, Rodgers’ sister.

Rodgers’ girlfriend and mother of his infant child is trying to come to grips with the latest development in the case.

"He was a loving father to my son. We just had a son, we got some closure but I still need to know what happened," said Twanna Reece.

Homicide detectives are investigating, but the incident remains classified as a suspicious death until a full autopsy is completed. A police spokesperson said Rodgers’ body had no visible signs of trauma.
