All-clear given at SIU Carbondale after disturbance on campus

CARBONDALE, IL (KTVI) – An all-clear has been given after a disturbance on the SIU- Carbondale Campus, that had some students locking themselves down in campus buildings. A campus-wide alert at was sent on Friday night about a shooting. Police there say are investigating reports of  a gunman and possible shots fired at Lawson Hall, in the center of campus.

A graduate assistant at SIUC tweeted, “Lawson building cordoned off…altercation during a talent show led to the situation.”

Police tell Luke Nozicka,  the managing editor of the student newspaper that, “We cannot confirm gun shots, but there was an altercation. Did not find casings, but blood is evidence of altercation.”
