BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) _ Two southern Illinois hospitals disagree over whether a new facility needs to be built in the city of O’Fallon. Officials from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital want permission from a state board to move their operation from a 60-year-old facility in Belleville to a new 144-bed hospital. But the new facility would be five minutes from where Memorial Hospital is building a second hospital in O’Fallon. Memorial Hospital officials object to St. Elizabeth’s choice of location.
