ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Excitement is growing as the transformation of the Arch Grounds continues. This morning the project's partners will break ground on one of the largest, most anticipated parts of the renovation. Very few things are more iconic and historic than the Gateway Arch. It's a must-do for tourists and first timers. However, for the last year or so, it hasn't been as pretty with all of the construction that's happening.

Project partners believe that this temporary inconvenience will all be worth it in the end. From up above, you'll see the Arch Grounds in its entirety. You can also see the construction happening all around. The renovation is moving at full speed.

Today, the City Arch River partners are breaking ground on the next phase of the project, the new, re imagined Gateway Arch Museum and Visitor Center. The overall project runs about $380 million. The Arch Museum accounts for one-third of that cost.

The official ground breaking is scheduled for 11a.m. at the future site of the new Arch entry plaza.
