ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- The Humane Society of Missouri previewed the Bark in the Park event with a day of microchipping at FOX2.
Pet parents brought their four-legged loved ones to our Maryland Heights studios. Veterinarians said implanting small computer chips can help owners locate their pet if the dog or cat runs away or is separated during a natural disaster.

During the event, pets were added to the National Registry and owners got one year of free access to the Poison Control Hotline.
On May 16, 2015 our own Lisa Hart will emcee Bark in the Park to help raise money for the Humane Society of Missouri. The agency provides emergency housing and medical treatment for stray and abused pets.

There will be a 5K race, 1-mile walk, and pancake breakfast.
