ST. PETERS, MO (KTVI)-The Mexico Road Resurfacing Project begins Tuesday, May 5th in St. Peters, Missouri. The project will effect motorists who travel along Mexico Road between Belleau Creek Road and West Sunny Hill Boulevard. It is scheduled to last throughout the summer.

During construction, the road will remain open to both eastbound and westbound traffic at all times, but this project will include daily lane closures.  At times the project could limit traffic on Mexico Road to one lane in each direction.

Replacement of the existing asphalt pavement surface, removal and replacement of defective concrete pavement, and concrete diamond grinding to improve pavement smoothness will be a part of the project. Sidewalks also will be repaired where necessary. New traffic signal video detection systems will be installed as well.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through work zones.
