Cardinals eighth inning setup man Jordan Walden will be sidelined for an additional six to ten weeks, the club announced on Wednesday. Walden was placed on the disabled list last Saturday with a strained muscle in his right (throwing) shoulder. Walden has pitched in 12 games for the Cardinals posting a 0.87 ERA. Walden got a second opinion earlier this week, confirming Cardinals team doctor George Paletta’s assessment that Walden would not require surgery.
