PITTSBURGH, PA (KTVI)- Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter will not be available for this weekend’s series against the Pirates due to extreme fatigue. Last Sunday, Carpenter left the game due to feeling lightheaded and being dehydrated.

In his pre-game meeting, Manager Mike Matheny  talked about the team doctors diagnosis and explained that the team decided to leave Carpenter behind in St. Louis to rest.

Carpenter was also out of Thursday’s starting lineup against the Cubs. The Cardinals expect Carpenter to rejoin the team Tuesday in Cleveland.
