Walk held to stop heroin use

COTTLEVILLE, MO (KTVI) – There was a walk to stop heroin this Saturday in Cottleville Missouri. About 1,500 people took part in the Walking for Wellness Stop Heroin Mitch’s Walk that included St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger, St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar, and St. Charles County Sheriff Scott Lewis.

The event was in honor of Mitch Stenger, who was county executive Steve Stenger’s who died from a heroin overdose in December of 2014.

The walk was followed by a balloon release and free concert by Mitch’s former band.
