ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Most people may not be like the cold and rain, but they were approaching Wednesday’s dreary weather with a positive attitude.

Despite the more November-like feel, people know spring will be back in short order.

The cold and wet from today made for far from perfect baseball weather.

At the Affton Athletic Association off Gravois Road, crews quickly took to the fields to work their magic to try and salvage whatever games they could.  It has been a tough year for youth baseball and softball leagues because of the frequent weekend rainfall.

Parishioners at St. Clement Catholic Church in Des Peres had a different kind of weather in mind when they were planning their spring picnic.  Crews spent the day setting up rides and booths under the steady rain with hopes that the sun shines on their big day tomorrow.

Not far away, in Kirkwood, life guards spent the day finishing off prep work at the city’s pool complex.  They were bundled up in hoodies and wind breakers trying to battle back the sudden surge of chilly air.
