Jhonny Peralta hit a walk off home run in the 10th inning to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 3-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday, Memorial Day at Busch Stadium. The Diamondbacks Mark Trumbo had hit a tying two-run homer in the eighth inning for Arizona. It spoiled a brilliant seven inning shutout pitching performance by Cardinals starting pitcher Carlos Martinez. Trevor Rosenthal pitched two innings in relief to get the victory. The other Cardinals runs were driven in by Matt Adams, a first inning ground out, and Jason Heyward, a fourth inning single scoring Adams.
