ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Back in March of this year 20 young men and women from the Matthews-Dickey Youth Ambassadors group started a project to identify why so many young people get into trouble with the law and what could be done to solve this problem.a

The group held four meetings that produced a list of 10 issues which they presented to a panel of community leaders Wednesday at Matthews-Dickey Boy's and Girl's Club. The list included: drug use, family instability, depression, the effect of death and loss and the lure of quick money.

The group also offered some suggestions to help those in need and to curb the culture of violence that leads to teens dropping out of school and end up in prison.
