Man shot in Penrose neighborhood during armed robbery

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – A 48-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound to his hand after he was the victim of an armed robbery in the Penrose neighborhood late Saturday evening.

The shooting took place at 10:15 p.m. in the 3900 block of N. Euclid Avenue, just off of Natural Bridge Road, according to a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

The victim was walking down an alley when he was approached by a stranger. This person demanded the victim’s property. When the victim refused to hand anything over, the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim.

The suspect stole the victim’s cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash.
