SUNSET HILLS, MO (KTVI) - The family of missing Sunset Hills woman released new photos of her Wednesday hoping they might help lead to her safe return.
Linda McLaughlin, 57, disappeared after having dinner with friends around 7:30 Monday night, police said.
Sunset Hills Police call her disappearance, "nefarious".
St. Louis County Crimes Against Persons investigators have now taken over the case.
Her family released the following statement Wednesday night:
The family would like to thank everyone that has shown their concern and support since the disappearance of our mother, Linda McLaughlin. She was last seen Monday evening. She is a loving mother and grandmother and would never leave without letting family or friends know of her plans. We are all praying for her safe return. We would like to ask anyone that has any information of her whereabouts, or may have seen her car, a 2008 brown Buick Enclave with Missouri State license plate KA9-L4R to please contact the Saint Louis County Police Department at 314-889-2341.
On Wednesday, St. Louis County Police swarmed the business she owns, McLaughlin Hoist and Crane in Fenton.
Investigators were looking for clues to what’d happened to her, where she could be, and why.
She never showed up at home on Meadowglen Lane where she was supposed to take care of her grandchildren.
Her worried neighbors and loved ones said it was so absolutely out of character for her. There was great cause for concern but also hope.
“If you’ve seen her, if you have any locations, we all miss her. We still believe she may be out there somewhere and ask for everyone’s help,” her son, John, told Fox 2.
“You have a 57 year old woman who is very family oriented; a “friend” person who is constantly with her friends, constantly in contact with them that’s through phone, texts, calls, or just being with them. All of the sudden she vanishes...this has never, never, happened in 57 years of her life,” said St. Louis County Police Sergeant, Brian Schellman.
She and her husband, John, are going through a divorce and have a settlement conference set for Thursday.
He’s listed at the general manager of the hoist and crane business.
He’s cooperating with the investigation, police said.
Her 2008 Buick Enclave was also missing. It has Missouri plates: KA9 L4R.
Police were checking her credit card and phone records but said her phone appeared to be turned off.
If you have any information, call St. Louis County Police at 314-889-2341.
