SUNSET HILLS, MO (KTVI) – St. Louis County Police are searching for a missing Sunset Hills woman and her family is pleading for help. Police were contacted about 57-year-old Linda McLaughlin Tuesday morning. She wasn’t home when she was supposed to take care of her grandchildren.  Police said family members told them this was totally out of character for the woman.  Her oldest son John McLaughlin said, “We’re just asking anybody if they have information about my mom and come out and provide any information you may have.”

Linda McLaughlin lives in a Sunset Hills subdivision.  Neighbors declined to be interviewed on camera but described her as a wonderful person.

Court records show she and her estranged husband were going through a divorce and this week they were to take part in a settlement meeting. Typically in a settlement conference the two sides discuss how to divide up the property and assets.

The couple has a business in Fenton; it’s a hoist and crane company.  At least five county police vehicles including crime scene vans converged at the business Wednesday afternoon to search the place.   Detectives told me they did leave with some potential evidence.

A web site indicates that Linda McLaughlin is the owner of the company and her husband john is general manager.  County Police spokesman Sgt. Brian Schellman said, “We’ve talked to the husband, the children and other family members all the family has been very cooperative at this point.”

Linda’s vehicle is a 2008 brown Buick Enclave and it carries a Missouri license plate that reads KA9L4R.

People became suspicious Tuesday morning when she wasn’t home to babysit her grandchildren who were being dropped off.

Distraught faces of neighbors and family member’s indicated Linda McLaughlin’s unusual disappearance has many people upset and worried.  At this point there are no arrests.
