Cardinals Matt Holliday on DL for first time since 2013

DENVER, CO (KTVI)- The St. Louis Cardinals have placed outfielder Matt Holliday  on the 15-day disabled list with a right quadriceps strain. Holliday left Monday night’s game in the bottom of the 2nd inning. This is his first trip to the DL since July of 2013.

Right-handed pitcher Miguel Socolovich has been recalled from AAA Memphis. Socolovich, 28, is making his second appearance with the team this season.
