ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - Summer is almost upon us. That means it's time to start showing off that beach body. Are you ready though? It's not too late to get in the gym and start toning up.

But a new study says doing cardio can sabotage weight loss efforts. According to the study, by doing cardio, you are suppressing a fat burning hormone called T3 and instead of burning fat, you actually gain and store fat.

So let's make sure you know what to do when you're working on your fitness.
