WARRENSBURG, Mo. (AP) _ Low-income shoppers at a Fort Leonard Wood farmers’ market will be able to pay with food stamps starting this week.

Through something called the Fresh For All Program, food stamp recipients will be able to choose the amount they would like to spend at the market from their benefit cards. Farmers’ market officials said in a news release that the customers then will receive vouchers they can use to buy fresh food.

The next market is scheduled for Friday at Colyer Park on Fort Leonard Wood.

The market manager is the Pulaski County Sheltered Workshop, a nonprofit whose focus is employing mentally and physically handicapped people.
