Over $500,000 worth of marijuana found in U-Haul

PHELPS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – The Phelps County Sheriffs Department found over 537 pounds of marijuana in a U-Haul truck.

According to a press release, Baldo York and Erie Perez Puga from Texas were stopped on Interstate 44 for a traffic violation Wednesday morning. After the driver of the U-Haul agreed to let the officer search the vehicle, the officer found over half of a million dollars worth of marijuana inside.

The two were arrested for “first-degree drug trafficking.” Their bond is set at $500.000 each.
