ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - A 48-year-old man is in custody after a shooting at a Central West End Burger King location Friday morning, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said.

According to police, the shooting took place just after 6:15 a.m. in the 700 block of N. Kingshighway.

Investigators said the 48-year-old, a manager at the Burger King, got into an argument with a 30-year-old employee over "payment issues." During that argument, the employee went behind the counter and a fight occurred. Other employees had to separate the two men.

The manager left the restaurant and went to the parking lot to get his gun. The employee followed him outside and another fight ensued.

The manager got to his gun and allegedly fired several shots at the employee, who ran away from the scene.

The victim, who was shot in the foot, was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Charges will be filed against both men.

The investigation remains ongoing.
