ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Jackie Robbins of The RIb Shack shows home pitmasters how make sure their holiday barbecues do no burn up their budgets. She suggests that cooks plan their meals before they go to the grocery store. This avoids buying unnecessary items. Robbins also suggests decorations, if you head to the dollar store first.

Sides are a must. But, Robbins says potato salad, baked beans and corn-on-the-cob are easy and inexpensive.

Finally, she says you can save time (time is money) by hiring a caterer for the holiday. Robbins can help you with that task.
