ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Friday’s newscast is my last here at Fox 2. I am retiring after an interesting and rewarding 43-year career in broadcasting. I’ve been very fortunate to spend 41 of those years covering the news here in St. Louis – a great town with great people.
I’ve enjoyed working here at Fox 2 for 25 of those years. I’ve been privileged to work with a lot of bright, talented, and hard-working people behind and in front of the camera; like Mandy, with whom I’ve shared the anchor desk for 9-plus years. I’ll always remember the good times and the big stories we shared, like Sandy Miller and Shirley Washington, when I teamed up with them; all of them co-workers and friends.
I want to thank all the people who called and sent notes wishing me well in retirement. I also want to thank the viewers who sent messages of support for my family and me after we lost our 17-year-old son, Brandon, to leukemia years ago. That meant a lot.
I’ve been blessed by all these things in my career and now I’m looking forward to retirement and what it may bring. I’ll just wrap things up by saying, “So long. It’s been a great ride.”
