ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-Thousands are expected in Forest Park Saturday to celebrate the Fourth of July at Fair St. Louis. All kinds of fun events will lead up to a spectacular fireworks show Saturday night.

The day got started with the Freedom 4-Miler run and a family fun run in Forest Park earlier this morning. Nearly one thousand people took part in the four mile run, many decked out in patriotic outfits.  A couple getting married on Saturday even started their special day with a run.

The 133rd Veiled Prophet Parade begins at 9:45am and will last for about two hours.

Then at Noon, Fair St. Louis opens. The big headlining musical act on this Fourth of July is Kool and the Gang. They take the stage at 8:45pm.

The big July 4th Fireworks will be held at 10:00pm

FOX 2 plans to bring you the Fair St. Louis fireworks live in their entirety at 10pm. If our MLB baseball coverage runs late, the fireworks coverage will air on KPLR 11.
