ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) - Two major computer issues cause problems at United Airlines and the New York Stock exchange.

Neither is being attributed to a cyber-security breach.

“We are in this hyper-sensitive area right now where a lot of people are worried about the malicious attacks when in reality that is a minority of the security incidences,” said Dave Chronister, Founder of Parameter Security of St. Charles, an ethical hacking company helping clients find holes in their systems.  “There could be a really good possibility that (the United and Stock Exchange problems) are just coincidental systems having issues.”

Chronister says into today’s world, virtually every system is under some kind of attack and that most of the time the security systems in place prevent breaches.
