Alton man pleads guilty to child porn charges

EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KTVI) – An Alton man faces between five and 20 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois said Thursday.

According to court documents, Shaun Meyer pleaded guilty to one count of receiving child pornography. He admitted to downloading the illicit material over the internet for approximately two years.

Meyer will be sentenced October 22. In addition to the prison term, he faces a fine of up to $250,000 and a term of supervised release of five years to life.
