ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- An overnight fire damaged a vacant warehouse in south St. Louis. The big blaze prompted a large response from the St. Louis Fire Department.
Firefighters spent hours battling the flames in the warehouse in The Hill neighborhood. The fire started just after 10p.m. Wednesday in the 4900 block of Daggett Avenue. Crews responded within minutes.
Officials say the building has been mostly vacant, aside from a few offices that were being used. No one was hurt.
The fire was stubborn and difficult to contain. As a result, more than 100 firefighters responded to fight the intense flames.
It was difficult for them to figure out the best way to get in and attack the blaze because parts of the building boarded up. Crews were able to get it under control around 1a.m.
The fire chief was on scene and said the fire didn't appear to be suspicious.
This is an ongoing investigation.
