EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KTVI) – A 51-year-old Madison, Illinois woman was sentenced last week after admitting to defrauding a Medicaid waiver program, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois Stephen Wigginton said.
According to court documents, Angela Jones pleaded guilty on March 12 and confessed to submitting false and fraudulent bills to the Medicaid program, which allows individuals to stay in their homes for healthcare instead of having to enter a nursing home.
Jones also admitted to billing the Home Services Program even while she was in jail.
She will spend the next two years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release. She was also ordered to pay $13,401.05 in restitution.
