New blood test can diagnose pancreatic cancer in early stages

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Pancreatic cancer is one of the most deadly forms of cancer. Survival rates are low; 75% of those diagnosed with the cancer die within a year of diagnosis.

Part of the danger of this cancer is because it is so hard to detect. A new blood test could change that.

Dr. Andrea Wang-Gillam, a Washington University Medical Oncologist from Siteman Cancer Center joins Fox 2 with the latest in how a new blood test could lead to early diagnoses.
