Charges filed against man suspected in robberies across metro area

EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KTVI) – Madison County State’s Attorney office has filed charges against 27-year-old Ryan L. Eastling for 3 counts of armed robbery. The charges come on heels of a series of armed robberies in Granite City.

Police say one of those robberies occurred on June 14th of this year in the early morning hours when it’s alleged that Eastling robbed three victims in their vehicles in a 90 minute time span.

Eastling was captured after crashing the SUV he was driving into a building, while fleeing from police officers who spotted the vehicle while investigating the robberies.

It was later discovered that the brown Suburban was stolen from St. Louis during a carjacking, where he’s a suspect in several incidents.

Eastling is currently in a local hospitals recovering from injuries sustained in robberies.

A bond of $150,000 has been set in the case.
