ST. ANDREWS, SCOTLAND (KTVI) – If you spy a pair of colorful pants on the green at the British Open, you know that John Daly is on the course. Known for avoiding traditional golf pants, Daly decided not to wear an average suit to the The Open’s Past Champions Dinner on Tuesday.

Fellow champions took pictures with the 1995 Open champion sporting a St. Louis Cardinals sport coat, and Cards fans tweeted their support for the jacket.

Daly’s jacket will live on in the official Open photo.

Daly moved to Arkansas when he was four and attended high school in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was a Missouri state champion in golf.
