ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Three African American women murdered less than a mile apart, their bodies found just hours apart. Those are among the killings that St. Louis police are investigating right now. The latest body was found just after 8am Monday morning under I-70 between Shreve and Kingshighway. Police say the body is that of an African American woman in her early 20’s. Investigators say she had an apparent puncture wound to her head and was likely dumped under that I-70 bridge. Police think they know who she might be but her name hasn’t been released yet. They are treating the case as a homicide. Investigators say a passerby found the body and called authorities.
That woman’s body was found less than a mile away from where two other African American women, one 21, the other 23 years old, were found murdered around 3am Monday morning. That double homicide scene was on Ruskin near Harney in the Mark Twain neighborhood. Both women were shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say 21 year old Ce`Onta Cretter was found dead in the driver’s seat of a car; the 23 year old’s name hasn’t been released yet. She was found dead on the front porch of a nearby home.
Police tell us they are investigating to see if these two cases could be linked given the circumstances of the cases.
Police also responded to another murder on Finney also in north St. Louis just after 11:30pm last night. In that case, investigators tell us an African American man in his mid-20’s was found dead. He had been shot in the head.
All of these murders come after three other killings early Sunday morning. So far, we know of no arrests in any of these murders.
