KANSAS – A nine-year-old bat-boy is in the ICU after being hit in the head with a bat at an amateur baseball game in Kansas Saturday.

Little Kaiser Carlile was running to retrieve a bat when the on-deck hitter took a practice swing and accidentally struck the boy.

Kaiser was wearing a helmet, but the impact was still very severe.

An EMS crew was already on-site and rushed him to the hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

The incident occurred as Kaiser’s team, the ‘liberal bee jays’, were in Kansas for the national baseball congress world series.

The team’s president released a statement expressing their deep affection for Kaiser, and requesting prayers for his recovery.
