Boil order in effect for parts of Pevely MO

PEVELY, MO (KTVI) – Parts of Pevely Mo are under a boil order. As of Sunday evening the following streets are advised to boil their water:

Blackberry Trail
Sunridge Trail East
Sunridge Trail North
Sunridge Trail South
Sunridge Trail West
Oak Trail
Orchard Trail

What precautions should you take if under a boil water advisory?

1. Boil water vigorously for three (3) minutes prior to use. Use only water that has been boiled for drinking, diluting fruit juices, and all other food preparation and brushing teeth. NOTE: Let water cool sufficiently before drinking.

2. Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic ice maker. Remake ice cubes with water that has been boiled.

3. Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaced by immersion of at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.

Do I need to boil bath water?

Water used for bathing does not generally need to boiled. Supervision of children is necessary while bathing or using backyards pools so water is not ingested. Persons with cuts or severe rashes may wish to consult their physicians.
