Officer involved shooting on West Florissant, following shots fired

FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) – Around 11:15 pm several burst of gun fire rang out on West Florissant. Police on the scene sought cover from the gun fire as protesters ran for cover. The shots seemed to have come from a section on the street north of the police and protesters position near the Ferguson Market.

St. Louis County Police tweeted the following information on Sunday night shooting in Ferguson: “The St. Louis County Police Department was involved in an officer-involved shooting after officers came under heavy gunfire”.

Police have told FOX2 that the victim in the officer involved shooting was transported to the hospital.

Two other incidents occurred during the protest on West Florissant, one was a young woman who suffered a seizure during the shots fired and another person was injured by flying glass at the scene.
