Sunday’s storms leave scattered damage in metro area

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – Strong storms rolled through the St. Louis area Sunday night bringing with it heavy rain, lightning, wind gust over 50 mph and flash flooding. Most the damaging weather was concentrated in the counties southwest of St. Louis in Franklin, Dent, Washington, and Jefferson County. Some storm damage occurred in Eastern Illinois after the storm crossed the Mississippi River.

In the Illinois town of Hoyleton, property was damaged by the storms strong winds.

Meteorologist Chris Higgins is live with the damage done.
