ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Tuesday's storms rolled through the area damaging 9th Street in Soulard, downing power lines and knocking power out for some businesses and residents in the area.

Not far away at Virginia and Loughbough in South St. Louis the power was knocked out at Blow Elementary, forcing school to be closed for Wednesday. But the students didn't get the day off, lucky for them a nearby YMCA  opened its doors for the students to continue their lessons for the day.

Late Wednesday afternoon, power was restored at the school and classes will be held at Blow Elementary.
