ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- For almost two weeks she's been praised and ridiculed, honored and had her life threatened.

On the one year anniversary of the Michael Brown shooting, Lexi Kozhevsky, a 19-year St. Louis University nursing student went to Ferguson to promote non-violence.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch photographer David Carson snapped a photo of her and learned she was there to act as a barrier between the police and protesters to promote peace between the two sides.
