EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KTVI) – A grand jury in Madison County indicted twin brothers Thursday for fatally injuring a man in a bar fight earlier this year.

The fight took place around 3 a.m. on May 3 outside of Danny’s Lounge in Alton. According to prosecutors, 35-year-old Adam and Aaron Hosford punched and kicked 43-year-old John Gleason in the head and body several times. Gleason was rushed to a local hospital and died June 6 as a result of his injuries.

The Hosford brothers were initially charged with mob action and aggravated battery, but those charges have now been upgraded to include involuntary manslaughter and obstruction of justice. Aaron Hosford also faces a count of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine).

If convicted, the brothers face between five and 10 years in prison on the involuntary manslaughter charge.

The investigation remains open. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Alton Police Department.
