Major case investigators make arrest in Wellston murder

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The Major Case Squad has arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of Timothy Gunter on August 30th. Brandon Tate, 27, is charged with murder in the 2nd degree and armed criminal action.

Gunter was found shot to death Sunday morning in Wellston. The shooting happened around 1am in the 6300 block of Lenox Avenue in Wellston. Police found the victim in the rear of a home after responding to a call for assault. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tate is currently in police custody at the St. Louis County Jail. He has a $500,000 cash only bond.
