ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Police have made an arrest after the body of a woman was found near a south St. Louis community garden on Monday morning. Warrants have been issued for Kenneth Middleton, 17, for rape and stealing. The cause of death of the woman identified as Kelli Pound, 47, is still unknown.

Pound was incapacitated and incapable of consent at the time of the sexual intercourse, according to a charging document from the Circuit Attorney of St. Louis. Investigators also say Middleton stole the victim's cell phone.

The case has been reclassified as a rape. The victim was pronounced dead at near the intersection of Alabama Avenue and Davis Street on Monday. The cause of death is pending autopsy results.

Roxane Pound, the victim's sister-in-law told FOX 2 that she suspects Kelli Pound was attacked. Her niece, Tisha Amer, said her aunt knew everyone in the neighborhood and lived around the block from where her body was found.

The victim's son, Joseph Mitchell said on Sunday afternoon she was taking the bus to visit her husband who is hospitalized at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. Her son told FOX 2 on Monday that he was worried she may have collapsed because of a reaction to prescription medicine. That was before police named Middleton as a suspect in the woman's rape.

Middleton is being held on a 500,000 cash-only bond.
