Saginaw, MI (WNEM) — The woman who posted this to her Facebook page said she did so to bring attention to a problem with the city. In the video, Candy Cork records a raccoon bleeding and slowly dying. Cork said she used a brick to kill the raccoon.

WNEM-TV spoke to Cork, she said when she called animal control, they told her they would remove the raccoon for the price of $129. She shared her video on Facebook as an inexpensive remedy for a pesky raccoon.

As of 4:30 p.m., the video she posted to her personal Facebook page had more than 350,000 views and 6,700 comments. But she said she never expected the kind of backlash she received.

When she spoke to WNEM-TV, she was walking to the police station to report she had been receiving threats. Animal Control said they’re looking into Cork’s case and cannot comment on an active investigation.

Just after 6 p.m. on Thursday, a Facebook page was created, called “Candy Favor Cork – Raccoon Killer.”

Several people said they reported the video to Facebook. Facebook responded by saying they reviewed the video, and it doesn’t violate its community standards.
