Vehicles burn, siding melts in condominium carport fire

SAPPINGTON, MO (KTVI)-Firefighters were busy putting out a massive car fire early Saturday morning in South County. Around 20 cars were damaged. It happened just before 3:30am in a carport at the Bent Pine Condominiums in south St. Louis County.

The fire burned so hot that siding on the nearby buildings melted.

There is no word on what caused the fire, but residents suspect a lightning strike may have sparked the blaze. No one was injured.
