WASHINGTON, D.C. (KTVI) - The U.S. Department of Justice has awarded the Metropolitan St. Louis Police Department a grant for $1.87 million to hire additional officers.

According to Congressman Lacy Clay, the grant will allow the St. Louis police to bring on 15 additional officers.

In a statement, Clay says, “This grant is a good beginning as I continue to pursue additional DOJ funding for more personnel, better training and support, and body cameras for all officers.”
