ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Motorcycle riders will be at Skate King early this Saturday for the Rollin' for Backstoppers Ride of Remembrance. Many of the riders will be first responders helping to raise money for families of fellow officers who died in the line of duty. Organizers expect over 150 riders at the event which will roll from Skate King in Pine Lawn and end with a cookout at Steinberg Skating Rink in Forest Park.

The event continues later Saturday night with a Skate King skate party.

Backstoppers offers educational support to fallen fire fighters, police officers and medics of publicly-funded ambulance districts.

Organizers say the charity pays $200,000 a year just to educate the children of first responders who died while on the job. That figure does not include bills or home repair costs.
