BALTIMORE, MD– An investigation into the death of Freddie Gray while in Baltimore police custody reveals that gray asked for medical help during his arrest.

According to investigators who reviewed officers’ statements, at least one officer warned that Gray needed medical care. But that officer, along with others, wondered if Gray was either faking injuries or being uncooperative.

Authorities say Gray died from a spinal injury suffered while being transported in a Baltimore police van back in April. His death sparked riots in the city and protests nationwide.

Six Baltimore police officers are charged in gray’s death.

All have pleaded not guilty.
