Airbus designs split level seating for planes

(KTVI) – If you think planes are uncomfortable now, just look at this idea from Airbus.  Earlier this month, the airline manufacturer filed a patent for a split level seating design that could be used in business cabins.

Passengers would be stacked on top of each other.

The elevated seating would be accessible by stairs or a ladder.

Airbus officials say it makes economic sense to maximize all available space in the cabin.

The design would allow two extra seats per row.
