Man shot on Jefferson in south St. Louis dies

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - A 42-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday morning in a car in the Fox Park neighborhood of south St. Louis.

According to Leah Freeman, a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman, the shooting happened just before 9 a.m. near the intersection of S. Jefferson Avenue and Russell Boulevard.

The victim, identified as Calmise Hall, was rushed to a local hospital where he later died.

A female passenger in Hall’s vehicle was not injured. She told police they were driving south on Jefferson when another vehicle pulled up along the driver’s side and opened fire.

Police have not released a description of the suspect's vehicle.

S. Jefferson Avenue was shut down while homicide detectives searched the scene for evidence.
