Cardinals take on Cubs for NLDS Game 1 in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- The wait is over. Red October begins this afternoon for the Cardinals. The team will take on the Chicago Cubs for the first time ever in the playoffs.

FOX 2's Randi Naughton is live at Ballpark Village with what you need to know.

There's a pep rally at Ballpark Village starting at 1:45p.m. The gates at Busch Stadium open at 3:15p.m.

Fans will receive a rally towel when they arrive. The pre-game ceremonies feature the Budweiser Clydesdales.

The National Anthem will be sung by Four Digit Chord, an a capella group including active, retired and civilian military members.

Former Cards outfielder Reggie Sanders will throw out the first pitch, marking ten years since his 2005 NLDS appearance.
